Precision Mapping Services from Farms to Reef

Benefit from comprehensive, cost-effective custom remote sensing, mapping, GIS services and Drone image capture services.

The academics at Oceania Scientific Services translates a complex world into insightful maps, figures, useful values and actionable insights. We provide spatial data acquisitions, analyses and interpretation for those pressing questions, empowering our clients to make timely and informed decisions. Spatial insights are a powerful tool to shape best practice from optimising farming efforts to designing conservation plans.

Mapping products range from simple study area maps to in-depth analysis of catchment hydrology or land use. Our certified Drone Operators are ready to capture local data, while analysis of shapefiles and remote sensed imagery is available for larger scale projects.
Our scientists provide the following mapping products:

  • Study area map/s
  • Catchment delineation
  • Remote Sensing image analysis
  • Spatial ecology (heat maps and hot spot analysis)
  • Riparian buffer analyses
  • Spatial data acquisitions
  • Land use analyses for calculation of vegetative area, urban area expansion, algal bloom occurrence and more.
  • Land use change mapping and analyses using remote sensing and GIS techniques.

We are experts in spatial analyses in the ecological, biological, conservation and environmental sciences. The scientists at Oceania Scientific Services work with researcher to tackle emerging challenges such as the impact of urban encroachment on habitat, land-use change affecting water quality, temperature shifts altering algal species composition and application of freely available data to solve complex spatial problems.

We can help farmers optimism fertilization, watering and crop treatment regime. Ultimately lowering costs saving resources and maximizing crop yield. The mentioned spatial services are also offered in a consultation with complete tuition format for PhD and masters students.

Changes Detection in the Maroochydore river area over 6 years

Landsat 8 (OLI) images were acquired every two years around August from 2013 to 2019 were used. A normalized difference vegetation index (ndvi) was preformed on bands 4 and 5. Ndvi is used to estimate vegetative area.
